“Creative and productive thought occur through many cycles and bursts; they are nourished by encouragement and fueled by both wonder and tension.” (Vera John-Steiner, Notebooks of the Mind)
This is yet another reason why it is imperative that we give our students the opportunity to fail, fall down, and get up again and again. This is why we encourage them to forge ahead and not give up. The men and women at NASA did not give up when John F. Kennedy challenged them to put a man on the moon or the rover on Mars this week. Jonas Salk did not give up until he discovered the cure for polio, nor did Alexander Fleming give up when he discovered penicillin. Bill Gates did not give up on Microsoft nor did Steve Jobs and Steven Wozniak when they worked in their garage to invent the Mackintosh computer and start Apple.
As educators we never know who is in our classes and what they will do with their lives. Thus the only thing we can do is provide them with the tools and techniques to succeed. Mindfulness techniques can help them discover who they are and through that knowledge they can be successful in both their personal and professional lives. As teachers it is our job to unlock the door to learning for ourselves and for them.

Kathy, you hit the mark when you remind us that one of the greatest assets of teaching is the learning that goes with it. Kind of instant karma!
Great post! It is through our experiences, whether good or bad, we excel in life.
Jeanette thanks, I hope you’ll keep each, I’ve posted another wonderful blog today…Kathy
